Blom Contracting is proud and excited to announce our new green initiative – 4 R World. As a general contracting company with a passion for the planet and the people that live on it, we are invested in finding innovative ways to reduce our footprint on this earth, in order to take care of our world, ourselves, and our next generations. Our ambition stems from all of the construction and renovation debris that we see everyday in jobs and projects that we complete. We believe there are too many reusable materials that end up in a landfill that don’t belong there. We want to help you complete your renovation – but we also want to help our planet, and now with the initiation of our new program, we can do both.
4 R World represents the four “R’s” we believe in – Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse, Restore. Construction and demolition “waste” materials such as wood, glass, metal, electrical fixtures, plumbing, insulation, ceramics, asphalt, concrete, gravel, bricks, and others are all ending up in landfills when alternatively we can give them a little R&R(&R&R) and give them a new home outside of a landfill. This is important to us because construction, demolition, and renovation waste make up 35% of our total global waste and we want to be a part of reducing it (Chen et al., 2018).
At Blom Contracting, we are 4 R World, and we believe that every small act will accumulate to make a big difference.
